Beach Safety

Enjoy Noosa's beautiful beaches safely - swim between the flag on patrolled beaches and follow the instructions and advice of the surf lifesavers on duty. Stay between the Red and yellow flags.

Sun Safety

Take care when you head out into the sun - cover up and protect yourself against harmful UV rays . If you find yourself without sunscreen on the beach, ask the surf lifesavers for some of their supply.

Noosa is located in Queensland and operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), which is GMT +10 hours. Unlike other eastern states of Australia, Noosa does not observe daylight saving time.

Our holiday periods are based around seasons, climate and school holidays. Prices and accommodation availability fluctuate accordingly.

Low Season: April - September (may exclude school holidays).

Currency

The currency used throughout Australia is the Australian Dollar (AUD). Banks across the country have facilities for currency exchange, allowing visitors to convert their money conveniently.

Tipping & Gratuities

Tipping is not required or expected in Australia. However, gratuities are welcome and appreciated, especially after an enjoyable meal or exceptional service, as a way to show your appreciation.

Clothing

In keeping with the relaxed Noosa lifestyle, smart, casual clothing is standard. A jacket or jumper (sweater) may be required in the cooler months of Autumn and Winter, especially in the evenings.

Disabled Services

Many public areas, shopping centres, Noosa hotels, apartments, attractions and restaurants provide disabled services and facilities. Noosa has a beach access mat on Main beach so people of all abilities can enjoy.

Medical Services

Public hospitals are located at Caloundra and Nambour. Private hospitals are located at Noosa, Buderim, Caloundra, and Nambour. Dialing 000 will reach emergency services in Australia.

Voltage

Australia operates on a 240V AC, 50Hz power supply. If you have 110V appliances, you will need a transformer to use them. Most hotels in Noosa provide AC 110V sockets for travellers with international devices.
